Suicide Heaven

A New Beginning

Suicide Heaven is the solo project of Chris Pounders, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from San Jose, California. Blending the brooding pulse of post-punk with the ethereal textures of new wave, Suicide Heaven evokes the moody atmospheres of bands like The Cure. Expect deep basslines, shimmering guitars, and haunting vocals that transport you to the underground music scenes of the ’80s.

Chris began his music journey behind the drum kit—often singing and drumming simultaneously—before stepping into the frontman role as a guitarist and vocalist. Over the years, he has released music with bands like Anomaly, The Banished, Pounders, Love District, and Culture Theft, before starting Suicide Heaven as a deeply personal solo endeavor.

Beyond his bands, Chris has an impressive performance history. He toured with STOMP in Las Vegas, appeared on America’s Got Talent, and performed at the Latin Grammy Awards. He was part of the Vans Warped Tour 2008, traveling coast to coast and into Canada. One of his favorite memories from that tour is sharing the stage with Katy Perry at Shoreline Amphitheatre as she performed I Kissed a Girl.

Chris has also made appearances on Conan O’Brien, performing as a backup singer for 30 Seconds to Mars during the This Is War era, and competed on The X Factor, singing in front of Britney Spears, Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato, and L.A. Reid. His resume includes music video work with icons like David Lynch, Taylor Swift, Neon Trees, Wallpaper, Ozzy Osbourne, and Mariah Carey.

With Suicide Heaven, Chris is finally opening the vault to release songs he’s written over the years—some reimagined, some brand new, and even a few creative covers. On every release to date, he’s played all the instruments himself, building an immersive sound that is entirely his own.

This project also aims to bring awareness to Suicide Prevention.
